  2. Hello Ari, We met at Oceti Sakowin with the camp media group. Terri W. just shared your link with me. Please check this out and think about submitting some writing to this project. Terri first mentioned you as we spoke about the issues around race there, as we look for positive inclusion and honoring Native traditions. .

Last fall I spent seven weeks total over four trips at Oceti Sakowin and saw Jeff there many times. I am still doing what I can to help the cause. I have a call for entries to a potential Oceti Sakowin Camp book project. It will be modeled somewhat after the last book Views From the Reservation. Please take a look and do whatever you can to help spread the word far and wide to native people who were at Standing Rock and have feelings, art, etc. regarding the meaning and value of the movement. I would truly appreciate it if you would share this call for submissions. Between now and the 24th, I’ll be on Pine Ridge, Cheyenne River and Standing Rock Reservations and am willing to go meet with anyone who would like to talk about it or submit. If you have any comments or suggestions they would be welcome. Otherwise I will be working on it from Vermont.

All my royalties from the project will be donated to the legal defense fund. This is similar to what I did with the book Views From The Reservation where the funds were donated to KILI Radio, Voice of the Lakota Nation.

I really believe we need to do all we can to help the movement’s positive aspects carry forward. In doing so one thing, this book is intended to contribute to is giving positive feelings to those who were there and helping educate people who were not. Please do take a look and let me know if you can help with submissions and by spreading the word.
